“With over $30 million to play for, this year’s Battle of Malta will be just as attractive to poker players as previous year’s live festivals,” said John Scanlon, Director of Live Events & Sponsorships at GGPoker. “We hope that everyone who planned to play poker in Malta this year will be able to take part, and can’t wait to see who will be crowned this year’s Main Event champion!”
“Due to the current situation, Casino Malta was ecstatic to be able to find a solution for this year’s Battle of Malta by partnering with such a prestigious brand as GGPoker”, said Slawomir Switalski, General Manager of Casino Malta. “With the help of this grand festival, our tiny, beautiful island of Malta will be showcased to a broader audience all around the world and we will be excited to invite everyone to our next live event in October 2021.”
The much-anticipated festival was initially scheduled to return to Malta in live form but was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Designed for low- to mid-stakes poker players, the Battle of Malta is one of Europe’s biggest poker events and one synonymous with fun and the lighter side of the world’s favorite card game.
